Wearing a Hanbok – the traditional outfit of Korea is a fun and cultural experience for visitors. This is one of the not-to-be-missed things to do in Korea. This colourful and graceful dress, once worn daily during the Joseon Dynasty, is now used for festivals, weddings, and palace visits. Women wear a long skirt (chima) and jacket (jeogori), while men wear trousers (baji) with a jacket.

Tourists often rent Hanboks, especially near places like Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village in Seoul. Rental costs range from ₩15,000 to ₩30,000 (₹1,000 – ₹2,000) for 2 to 4 hours, and longer rentals are available. Shops offer lockers and styling tips and some include accessories, like hairpins. Wearing a Hanbok gives you free entry to palaces and makes for stunning photos especially in spring with cherry blossoms. You will enjoy walking around in Hanboks, taking photos, and feeling part of Korean history.

You will need to walk, so make sure your shoes are comfortable. Morning visits are best for photos and smaller crowds. Remember, some stores will ask for your ID or passport to rent or buy things. If you want to feel the charm of Korea’s past, renting a Hanbok is a must. It is a memorable way to experience a South Korea travel package and take some great photos too!
