A Mokoro Ride in the Okavango Delta


The Mokoro is a common type of canoe used to get around in the shallow waters of Okavango Delta. A maze of sparkling lagoons and roundabout channels and overgrown islands crowded with wildlife, Botswana’s Okavango Delta lies in the sparking jewel at the core of the ‘Kalahari Desert’. Traditionally, Mokoro are made from dug out trunks of large straight trees, like ebony, and kigelia and but today. Mokoro ride in Delta is an absolute “must do” even if at first it at first seems terrifying.
