Important Note:

GULMARG:

  • Please note Gulmarg is a walking town. Vehicles of other cities are not allowed here. So only for pick-up & drop during your hotel c/in & c/out the vehicle will come than it will go back to Tanmarg town.
  • In winters or even when there is snow on the roads , the Private car cannot go up to Gulmarg town due to snow so a snow car needs to be hired by guest (at optional cost) to reach to the hotel. This optional cost has to be paid by the guest directly to the driver. 
  • Senior citizens or family with kids who finds difficult to explore Gulmarg town by walk can even hire a pony or a local union car to explore Gulmarg town at optional cost.
  • In Gulmarg, the cable car station is situated at the walking distance from almost all the hotels so one can go to cable car station by a walk or else through the pony or union car (cost is optional).   

Gulmarg Sightseeing 

  • Cable Car (at optional cost) – Client needs to book the cable car tickets online on below link on their own. FLAMINGO IS NOT TAKING THE COST FOR THE SAME SO IF AT ALL CLIENT DOES NOT GET THE ONLINE BOOKING OF GONDOLA RIDE THAN THERE CANNOT BE ANY REFUND POSSIBLE. 
  • Pls book Gulmarg Gondola Tickets online once you book the tour with us.  During peak season the ticket availability is not possible if done last minute. 
  • Gondola ticket booking is managed online thru J&K tourism. It is not in our hands or offline to get the tickets booked.
  • So as soon as you book the tour with us pls refer the below link & check for your Gondola ride booking. 
  • Please book cable car from below link.

      • Airtel, BSNL & Jio will provide more connectivity throughout the state. However, Postpaid 4G will only work in Srinagar.

        Liquor/Alcohol

      • Alcohol is not openly consumed in this region. You may get 1 or 2 Shops in Srinagar.
      • All the hotels serve alcohol or have a bar on the premises, so purchasing the same on the arrival day for the whole tour is always advisable. 
      • Keep Your First Aid Kit With You

      Roads are very well connected with National Highway. Inner Road is still better.

      • Luxury Vehicles with good quality, like any Sedan Car & SUV cars, are available in this region.
      • Vehicles above 8 Seater can be like Tempo Traveller. Most Vehicles here will be Non – A.C.
      • Every City has a Union of Transportation that needs to be used for Local Sightseeing. These unions work in Gulmarg, Sonamarg & Pahalgam.
      • It is compulsory to use a vehicle from them.
      • There might be a shortage of Vehicles during peak season

      Srinagar

      •  Dal Lake: You need to travel by boat, known as Shikara.

      Gulmarg

      • Snow Car is used (Compulsory Tanmarg to Gulmarg between November to February Due to Snow on the Road).
      • The  whole  town  will  be  internally  traveling  by  Walking  /  Ponies  / Sledges.

      Pahalgam

      • While traveling to Aru Valley / Chandanwadi & Betab Valley, you need to travel by Union Vehicle, which can be available from the Union Vehicle Parking in Pahalgam.
      • Rest all Places you can travel by your car which is in service or booked by you thought your tour. 

      Sonamarg

      • While traveling to Zero Point, you need to take the Union Car.
      • While visiting the Thajiwas Glacier area, you only need to travel by Pony Ride, available from the Union Vehicle Parking area in Sonamarg.

      Cash

      • Credit Cards and Debit Cards will not work at some sightseeing places
      • Pony Rides, Local Restaurants, and Local Shops don't accept the Cards. We suggest you always carry some cash.

      Houseboat Stays

      • Situated in the Dal Lake, Houseboats are Stable and Fixed and cannot be moved from their Place.
      • Since it has been a landmark of Kashmir, you can enjoy the Kashmir culture and its local hospitality.
      • Due to the hilly terrain, you might need to do some walking as hotels don't give lift facilities and be ready to climb stairs
      • You should reach the Dal Lake gate number, which the houseboat person has provided, from where you will be transferred to Houseboat by the Shikara. Once you reach the Houseboat, go to your room, and the caretaker will show you the rest area of the Houseboat and explain the Rules for the Houseboat.

        Meals

        • While Checking in to Houseboat, Please note that there are limited staff options on the Houseboat, so some services may be delayed.
