Europe's got something for everyone! What's your interest?

  • A Scandinavian tour  a quite leisurely paced tour and not as hectic compared to multi country central European tours.
  • This tour is best suitable for family travellers, nature lovers, couples and travellers who wish to explore stunning landscapes of Scandinavia.

Unfortunately none of the European tours are planned keeping in mind, specially the abled person due to following reasons:

  • You have to get up and down the coach multiple times a day.
  • All the places have designated pickup and drop off point and therefore walking is involved.
  • We do not get anyone to push the wheelchair for us so we have to do it by ourselves.
  • It is not possible to drag the wheelchair because most cities have cobbled stone streets, mainly the old parts of the city.

We recommend you to get in touch with our team to help you to plan the ideal and most smooth wheelchair friendly vacation in case if you are travelling with one.

Scandinavian tours are more closer to neural tours with many activities like cruises on fjords, scenic rail routes, staying on fjord and have fewer kids centric activities. Therefore more enjoyable for children above 5 – 7 years old and not very small kids.

  • Advance booking of Scandinavian holidays 4 – 6 months in advance is very much ideal.
  • Advance planning will help you to apply visas on time which in turn can save lot of last minute hassle and cancellations.
  • The earlier you plan the better cost advantage you get.

Europe tour has a lot of walking involved.

  • Cities are best explored by walking and therefore we do many city tours full or part by walk.
  • Also Europe has designated pick up and drop off points therefore to reach hotel, sightseeing, attraction and restaurant one has to walk.
  • Coaches have restrictions to go into historical centres of many cities such as Rome, Florence, Pisa, etc so all these city tours will be done by walk.

Therefore, please be prepared to walk daily from 3-6 kms approx. and on some days more.

All major airports like Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bangalore have connections to Europe. Here are some airlines flying from each city to European cities:

Air India / Indigo – Typically connects all major cities with domestic flights and operates direct flights from Mumbai and Delhi.

Emirates / Etihad / Qatar – Connects to almost all major cities in Europe via their hub.

European Airlines Such as Lufthansa / Swiss Air / Air France / British Airways – Have direct flights out of some major cities of India.

Airlines such as Air Arabia / Azerbaijan Airlines / Turkish Airlines / Lot Polish/ Oman Air etc also offers very economical fares with great connects throughout Europe.

Travel Duration: The flying time from India to Europe varies based on specific departure and arrival cities, the route taken, and layovers. Here are some approximate direct flight durations:

Direct flight take approx. 9 to 9.5 hrs.

Flights with layover or via their hub takes approx. 12 to 15 hrs. including layover duration

Group Block: On certain selected dates we have group tickets blocked which are limited in numbers. Group tickets means all group passengers will be going and coming back together from one city. You can refer to our website or sales staff on airlines blocks and timings that we can offer.

Individual Ticket: Many Passengers are travelling from different cities in India / USA or they wish to extend the programme and therefore they have choice of booking individual tickets to give them flexibility and choice. It would be ideal to check with sales staff about group arrival and departure timings before you book your individual ticket so you so not miss any sightseeing or activity.

Please understand cancellation rules very clearly as you book your tickets earlier and then you apply for visas and if your visas are rejected you shall fall under airline cancellation.

No, it is not necessary that all passengers are travelling together as we have passengers traveling from many parts of India.

As group PNR is a secured booking and one booking for multiple passengers is generally due to safety and security reasons it will not allow you to do web check-in. It will be always check-in at the airport.

Seats are chargeable nowadays with all the airlines. If you wish to choose seats as per your preference you can get in touch with your sales staff and do so by paying additional charges applicable by the airline.

That’s absolutely fine. We have the package available as land package on our website which is without airline rates.

No, the tour manager may not be travelling with you on the flight.

We will issue your tickets irrespective of your visa documents have been submitted to our office. If you doubt your case please talk to your sales staff before confirming the booking. Please note that as soon as tickets are issued one falls under ticket cancellation.

A fjord is a long, deep, narrow sea inlet created by glaciers millions of years ago.

In simple words:
A fjord is a deep valley filled with seawater, surrounded by very tall mountains on both sides.

How Fjords Are Formed

  1. During the Ice Age, massive glaciers slowly moved across the land.
  2. These glaciers carved out U-shaped valleys—very deep and steep.
  3. When the ice melted, sea water rushed into these valleys.
  4. The result: spectacular fjords with steep cliffs and calm blue water.
  • Crystal-blue water
  • Dramatic mountains rising straight from the sea
  • Waterfalls cascading down cliffs
  • Villages tucked into the hills
  • Some fjords are hundreds of meters deep

Two Norwegian fjords, Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord, are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

  • The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are colorful light displays that appear in the night sky at high northern latitudes. The best season to see the Northern Lights are from Late September to March.

  • The Midnight Sun is when the sun stays visible in the sky for 24 hours, even at midnight. This happens in regions above the Arctic Circle, where the tilt of the Earth makes the sun never fully set during part of the summer. The best season to see the Midnight Sun is from Late May to Late July.
  • Yes on our Journey we see many fjord and in some tours we also have a stay  at Geiranger Fjord on our tour. Do check our website for the same
  • Geirangerfjord is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This status is given because of its outstanding natural beauty, unique geology shaped by glaciers, pristine and untouched environment.
  • Yes, we do see Midnight Sun on our tours. The dates are as below:
  • May –  28
  • June – 4, 11, 18, 25
  • July – 2
  • Both the places have Midnight Sun experiences. Honningsvag has no sightseeing for exploration whereas Rovaniemi has many sightseeing for passengers to explore along with the sighting of the Midnight Sun. So viewing the Midnight Sun from Rovaniemi is a much better experience than from Honningsvag.
  • Usually driving is much more time consuming and the entire day gets wasted whereas if you take an overnight cruise then the time is saved and also the passengers can relax and enjoy their time by the sea while cruising. These cruises are not luxury cruise liners but are quite comfortable though..
  • We provide standard Inside cruise cabins on the cruise. We can upgrade the cruise cabin at an additional cost but it is subject to availability. Charges are approcimetly EUR 50 to EUR 200 Approx depending on the cabin you choose.
  • Yes we have 2 internal flights in our tour. It requires a pre-booking as getting tickets at the last moment will not be possible as the flights get full fast.
  • Yes, if you only want a quick overview, 1 night is enough. With 1 night you can do a half day or a full day city tour that includes the visits to main sights –  Bryggen Wharf and Mount Floyen funicular ride.
  • Tallinn is very close to Helsinki. It is only 2 hours by ferry. The ferry ride is short and scenic. It is easy to do a day trip and return the same evening and because of this convenience, there is no need to stay a night in Tallinn.
  • Norway in a Nutshell is Norway’s most famous and most scenic fjord journey, combining trains, fjords, and mountains in one full-day trip. It is not a guided tour — instead, it is a self-guided travel route created by Norway’s national rail and tourism system.
  • The museum houses the Vasa, a massive Swedish warship built in 1628 that sank on its maiden voyage. It remained underwater for 333 years and was recovered almost 95% intact — something extremely rare in history.
  • The Øresund Bridge is one of the most impressive engineering feats in Northern Europe, connecting Denmark and Sweden. It’s a combined road and rail bridge-tunnel over the Øresund Strait. It connects Copenhagen, Denmark with Malmö, Sweden.
  • As you know European tours are quite on the go with fixed schedule for everything and the agenda of the tour is maximum exploration, so we have very limited or almost no free time for shopping on the tour. If you wish to go on shopping spree or you are someone who loves doing it then we request you to extend your stay either pre or post tour depending on your shopping interest.
  • We provide Indian Vegetarian Meals on the tour. Jain food is available provided restrictions are limited to No Onion, No Garlic, No Potato.
  • Chefs also have to travel from one city to another while the tour is going on therefore when they are travelling or in Transit meals are cooked by Indian restaurant chef.
  • There are 2 local meals on the tour. Local meals are usually given to change the monotonous food pattern during the tour.
  • Yes, tap water is absolutely drinkable in Scandinavia. It’s a good idea to carry water bottle from here which you can fill it up for your hydration requirement. We do not provide any water bottles on the tour.
  • Our tour leader do carry instant tea mix packets generally which you can take it from them to make your tea by just adding hot water and you shall get a wonderful masala chai. We also provide the same as departure gift for the tour and we strongly recommend you to carry the same with you on the tour. As tour leaders have limited capacity to carry tea packets.
  • No, Indian items are not available during the breakfast on the tour. However we do try to help give at some places but can’t be guaranteed due to food safety rules in these countries , many hotels do not allow outside food.
  • Usually restaurant found in this cities are smaller compared to restaurant we see in India and relatively very small as they are not built to cater to as large crowds as India. They usually have reasonable décor but nothing fancy.

European group tours are planned keeping in mind general interest, budget, duration, logistic and comfort, etc. Please note some of the following reasons for choosing the hotels outside the centre.

  • City centre hotels are usually smaller with very small rooms and many times built in older buildings.
  • City centre hotels in Europe are much more expensive due to high demand and limited space.
  • Staying slightly outside helps to control tour costs, allowing us to offer competitive pricing without compromising the comfort.
  • Large coaches face restricted entry, parking or drop-off zones inside city centres. Outskirt hotels have ample parking space, making arrivals and departures smoother for big groups.
  • Outskirt hotels are often located en route to the next destination, helping to avoid backtracking or passing through major traffic when going to next destination.
  • Staying outside doesn’t mean missing out — groups does visit city centres during the day for sightseeing and return to outskirt hotels at night.
  • This ensures that travellers get the best of both worlds — city experiences + value for money accommodation.

In short, hotels in the outskirts are more economical, convenient for coach travel and comfortable for groups, while still allowing full city sightseeing — making them the smarter choice for European group tours.

  • Group travel is a pre fixed tour itinerary where all components are pre fixed. Changing hotel on tour is a practical idea but logistically it is not possible to do multiple picks before starting the tour. It wastes time for all. So changing of hotel is not provided.
  • Of course you can choose upgrade your room at an additional cost but it is subject to availability at the hotel. Please contact your sales staff for the same.
  • We do offer standard rooms (run of the house) on all our tours. Which includes double (2 adults or 2 adults + 1 child no bed) or twin (2 adults, 2 adults + 1 child no bed) and triple (3 adults or 3 adults + 1 child with bed).

Please note below while selecting your room configuration.

  • Most hotels have twin rooms and less double rooms. Even if pre requested the same is not guaranteed.
  • Double/ twin and triple room size is always the same.
  • In triple room extra bed is usually rollaway bed or mattress.
  • Quad rooms are generally not available in Europe. Most hotels do not allow 4 persons in one room due to fire safety rules and smaller size of the rooms.
  • Wi-Fi: Most of the hotels has the free Wi-Fi across the hotel in almost all major cities. However remote cities may have in lobby but may not be available in rooms.
  • Safe Deposit Box:  Very few hotels have.
  • Hotel Water Kettle:  Almost no hotel has. However you can get hot water from the bar for making tea / coffee.
  • Rooms in European hotels are very small. Size is around 16sqm to 20 sqm.
  • Some hotels do not offer triple rooms due to size of the rooms, they usually give 1 double + 1 single room to accommodate.
  • European hotels due to strict Environmental conservational Law policies; in Europe most good 4* chain hotel do follow below.
  • Amenities put in the rooms are very basic or close to almost nothing as when don’t get used they have to throw them so to save wastage they out in minimum. Some hotels do keep them at the reception or in housekeeping and by calling them you may be able to get them.
  • Daily cleaning, changing of towels and sheets are not a daily thing now. If you need during your stay it can be  done on request.
  • In the hotel 4 Persons in one room is not recommended because European ours are on the go, which starts early morning and finishes only after dinner. Therefore it is very difficult for entire family to get ready in small room with 1 bathroom.
  • Due to climatic conditions most hotels in Europe are not built with Air conditioning. Especially the hotels in Switzerland, Germany & Austria.
  • Due to very strict Environment Conservation law if temperature does not reach certain degrees they will not start air conditions (if they have) or heater.
  • Many hotel have climate control which is not privately controlled from room rather it is centrally controlled and the same only goes to 2-3 degrees than outside temperatures.
  • Ac’s also have temperature control due to environment law and usually it does not works like India it may go down few degrees.
  • It is very common to get heat wave in Europe and hotel typically can ask you to open the windows or offer a table fan.
  • If you are travelling alone or require single room you are required to pay single supplement as usually costing is done on twin share basis.
  • Hotel standards in Europe are generally different from Asia and America — rooms tend to be much smaller, simpler, less amenities or facilities and more compact, even in similar star categories.
  • Standard group check-in time is 1600 Hrs and check-out is 1000 Hrs
  • If you have an early arrival or late departure, please note that you will have to check-in or check-out the room accordingly.
  • Our tour starts with dinner on 1st day and ends with breakfast on last day. We can provide extra meals at a cost if required.
  • If you wish to have guaranteed early check-in or late check-out you can opt for the same by paying extra cost charged by the hotel which is subject to availability.
  • Airport transfers are included for all the guests; provided they are arriving and departing on the same day of the tour.
  • Transfers are provided on seat in coach basis where other travellers like you will be travelling with you.
  • We combine guest arriving in 45 minutes duration and provide them transfer so you may have to wait for some time before you get transferred.
  • If you are arriving by any other mode of transportation or staying at other hotels or friends and relatives place logistically it is not possible to provide the transfers.
  • The transfers are booked way much in advance. The same can be changed or amended only until 96 Hrs (Working Hours, Weekends don’t count) before departure. If anything happens after that the same can’t be changed nor refunded. One must take a taxi from airport to hotel and transfer themselves. There will be no refund on unutilized services with 96 Hrs.
  • If you are arriving by any other mode of transportation or staying at other hotels or friends and relatives place logistically it is not possible to provide the transfers.
  • Tour leader will be picking big group transfer or will be at the hotel to receive you.
  • Regret to inform that refund is not possible.

27. Croatia – officially joined the Schengen area on 1 January 2023.
  • When travelling to multiple countries in the Schengen area, the general rule is to apply a visa from the main destination or the country where you will spend the most time. Here’s a breakdown of the guidelines:
  • Longest Stay: If your trip involves multiple Schengen countries, apply for your visa from the country where you will stay the longest.
  • Main Destination (Primary Purpose): Apply for the visa from the country where your primary purpose of travel lies, business or visiting family/friends. Then 1st condition does not apply. Even if you are doing day trip or staying minimum nights in that country you will have to apply visa from that country and not the longest stay. Any other purpose of travel tops tourism and we must apply our visa from that country.
  • Entry Point: If your stay is equally divided among the multiple countries, apply for the visa from the country where you will enter the Schengen area first.
  • Not Required to Apply from the First Country You Enter: If you are entering through a Schengen country where you will not stay long, but it's just the first point of entry, you don't need to apply for your visa from there.
  • Make sure to check the specific visa application requirements of the country where you are applying, as visa processing rules may slightly differ between Schengen states.
  • For certain countries you may be requiring pre-approved ETA (electronic travel visa), depending on your nationality.
  • Foreign Nationals should check their visa requirements in their country for Schengen & UK, Flamingo will not be responsible for rules applicable in your home country.
